Secure CAD conversion

STEP to PDF converter for engineering drawings.

Convert STEP and STP CAD models to 2D PDF drawings online. Generate geometry-derived views and detected dimensions for engineering review, supplier discussions, and manufacturing documentation.

No CAD software requiredSTEP and STP supportedSTEP files are deleted immediately after processing. Your PDFs are available to download for 24 hours.
A3 · geometry report
Actual generated drawing of a 120 by 80 by 8 millimetre mounting plate, with four separate 10 millimetre through-holes, orthographic views and an isometric view.

Actual sample output

Built for practical review

From model to drawing in one workflow.

No CAD installation, drawing templates, or manual exports. The service handles geometry inspection and PDF composition in the cloud.

01

Geometry-aware drawings

Orthographic and isometric views are generated from the actual STEP geometry—not a screenshot.

02

Hole schedules and dimensions

Detected holes, slots, model extents, radii, thickness, and bevel geometry are organized for review.

03

Private processing

STEP files are deleted immediately after processing. Your PDFs are available to download for 24 hours.

Security by design

Your CAD file has one job: create your PDF.

Account-gated studio

Conversion tools and downloads require a signed-in account.

File retention

STEP files are deleted immediately after processing. Your PDFs are available to download for 24 hours.

Three steps. One shareable drawing.

How to convert a STEP file to PDF

Designed for engineers, designers, estimators, and manufacturing teams who need a shareable drawing from a 3D CAD model. Automated drawing generation reduces repetitive view placement and makes geometry easier to discuss without a CAD installation.

  1. 01

    Open the studio

Sign in to your account and upload your .step or .stp model.

  2. 02

    Generate the drawing

The service inspects model geometry, arranges drawing views, and adds detected dimensions and feature information.

  3. 03

    Review and download

Check the PDF against the source model and your design requirements. Download it within the 24-hour availability window.

STEP to engineering drawing: common questions

File formats, drawing details, and what to check before you share.

Are STEP and STP different formats?

STEP and STP are common filename extensions for the same STEP exchange format. Both are accepted; changing an extension does not repair invalid CAD geometry.

What does the PDF include?

The output includes orthographic and isometric views with detected dimensions and feature information where supported by the geometry. See the actual sample PDF above for a representative part.

Is the drawing ready for manufacturing?

Treat the PDF as a reference drawing until a qualified reviewer checks units, dimensions, feature interpretation, tolerances, material, finish, and design intent. A geometric model alone may not contain these requirements.

Do I need CAD software?

No local CAD installation is required to use the online converter. You need a supported STEP/STP model, a browser, and a signed-in account.

Will every model convert in the same way?

Drawing quality depends on valid source geometry and part complexity. Review the generated views and detected features rather than assuming every dimension or manufacturing annotation has been recovered.

Are uploaded files public?

The studio and downloads require sign-in. STEP files are deleted after processing and generated PDFs are available for 24 hours. Customer files and job URLs are excluded from the public sitemap.
